We're getting glimpses of Tyler's temper and I'm worried because this is just the beginning. Last night he was carrying around Chili's collar. Before he had a chance to put it in his mouth, I asked for it but he scurried away. I asked for it again then took it out of his hand and he threw himself on the ground sobbing and completely heartbroken. Shortly after, he got a hold of a pen, something he definitely shouldn't have. I asked for it the same way and he gave it to me, no problem. So, this weekend I started reading my books about how to raise a toddler to try to make sense out of all this.
For all moms-to-be or friends of moms-to-be, I absolutely loved Secrets of the Baby Whisperer and have found Baby Whisperer for Toddlers just as helpful. In the toddler version I answered about 25 questions about his personality and found that Tyler is split down the middle between an "Angel toddler" and a "Textbook toddler" which sounds good to me. I think he was a cross between "Textbook baby" and a "Touchy baby" in the first book. So, the next time he throws himself onto the ground in a fit, I just need to remind myself that it could be worse. He could be a "grumpy baby."
