See Tyler Grow

Tyler has always been highly verbal. At the moment, he's really into songs. It's wild how quickly he can memorize the words to a song. With Grammy Dee, who has a song for everything, having just visited, I discovered that Tyler knows more songs than I thought he did and that Tyler can learn a song after hearing it just three times...then he'll sing it for us three hundred times. But Auntie Kari taught me a couple years ago to teach the kids to spell their name so that if they ever get lost and nobody can understand what they are saying when asked what their name is, at least they can sing it. Tyler's song is to the tune of B-I-N-G-O because that's how original I am. Somehow last weekend in Santa Barbara, Jordan started singing his song's name, which is far more creative than Tyler's, and it immediately got Tyler's brain going as he dug deep into those synapses to find the words to his name song which I taught him about four months ago but haven't sung since. T-Y-L-E-R, T-Y-L-E-R, T-Y-L-E-R Tyler Davis Curt. He points his finger as he enunciates every letter. That was an awakening moment for Jordan. He turned to his mommy and said "Hey, Tyler's name is Curt too!" I could almost see the light bulb turn on over his head he had made such a brilliant discovery.

Tyler is all about names at the moment. This morning while getting him dressed I told him "You are my pumpkin." To which, he said back to me "You are Lorelei?" (he pronounces it Lolei) "And Dada is Honey?" Yes, that's right. You are pumpkin, I am Lorelei and Dada is honey. What strange names we Curts have.
