Tyler is going to have a little brother!! He hasn't heard the news yet, and probably won't care. I read somewhere that telling a toddler (one old enough to understand what you're saying) that they are going to have a brother or sister to play with is similar to your husband telling you he's bringing home another wife to keep you company. While that analogy is extreme, it explains the less-than-enthusiastic responses most of my friends got when they told their older child they'd be getting a brother or sister. For now, that is not an issue since Tyler wouldn't understand us. We have 20 more weeks to figure out how to explain it to him.
Tyler is learning not to hit and the dog is his learning prop. Luckily for us, this will be resolved by the time the baby is born so he shouldn't go around hitting the baby. Unlucky for Chili though, who just lays there and takes the beating. I think Chili secretly enjoys it because it means I come over and show Tyler how to pet "gentle" and we give him lots of attention which any dog would love.
