Pre K
Tyler officially moves into Kindercare's private kindergarten program next week. We're lucky, there are five kids turning five this month and while Kindercare didn't have any enrollees in their private Kindergarten program in the fall, they decided to train a teacher on the curriculum and move these five kids into the program together. There are a few exciting things about this. He gets a locker, which makes him feel really special. He gets to play on a new playground with the "big kids" (the elementary school kids who go to Kindercare for after school care) which makes him feel a lot older than Gavin. He is separated from many kids he's been with for a long time, including Christopher, so we expect to see new, hopefully positive, influences. And beginning next week, he'll need a backpack and we'll begin to get in the habit of checking his work daily, completing homework (anything that doesn't get complete during school). This week is a transition and they've gotten to watch TV in the afternoons. He has no idea what he's in for starting next week and I have a feeling I don't either. But it will be good to get us in the routine of homework.
