Tyler has been enjoying this Christmas season. He visited Santa last week and after crying and avoiding eye contact with him at the first encounter, he gladly sat on his lap an hour later after warming up to the idea. He was pretty proud of himself too. He told Santa he wants Playdoh and a ball. That shouldn't be too hard. He's so into stories that Shawn & I have been telling him the story about how Santa goes to all the little boys & girls houses and checks his list to see if they've been naughty or nice. This has given me some new leverage in negotiating with Tyler, when I remind him we have to be good little boys and girls for Santa to visit, he always interrupts to tell me "I am not a little girl I am a boy." He says it as though I had no idea. So funny. He really enjoys looking at the lights, trees, and presents. Looking but not touching.

We got our Christmas tree last night. We actually picked it out on Sunday, but couldn't bring it home until the flocking (yes, we went got it flocked but it looks beautiful) dried. After Mama & Dada carried it in and set it up, we discussed the rules. No touching the tree. Look but don't touch. Wave 'hi' to it but no touch it. Tyler has always been good at following rules and I only wish I could say the same about Gavin. When the initial new tree excitement died down, we went down the hall to get ready for bath time. Tyler disappeared on me but I had already put Gavin in the tub so since I couldn't go looking for him, I just started calling for him. Several minutes later when he finally came into the bathroom, I couldn't help but notice that Tyler's red shirt was full of flocking. Then came in Dada asking me if I knew where Mickey was. Mickey was Tyler's reward for his first poopoo and he is so attached to Mickey. No, I didn't know where Mickey was. So Dada informed me that Mickey was lodged in the Christmas tree, about 2/3 of the way up. We both looked at Tyler who was innocently listening to our conversation and suddenly the flocking on his shirt made perfect sense. We couldn't get him to explain why he threw Mickey in the tree but he did inform us that he didn't touch the tree.
