See Tyler Grow

We went to Hawaii for two weeks and watched a miracle happen right before our eyes. Every day we swam, sometimes in the pool other times in the ocean, but every day we watched Tyler progress into becoming a swimmer. First he was afraid to put his head in the water even though he'd gladly wear his goggles on land. He gladly wore the floaties Gramma got him and built up his water confidence in them.

Every day we reminded him about blowing bubbles, kicking and using our arms. We hyped up our masks and snorkels and, more effectively, other kids' masks and snorkels. Suddenly, while with Dada and Uncle Mike out in Poipu Beach a.k.a. "kids beach" to him, he became a brave warrior and began putting his face under water. Perhaps it was the lack of attention the men gave him, as compared to how much I encouraged him. No worries, I watched it all unfold from afar. He'd count loudly for all to hear "One Two Three" and then throw his head under water.

By the eighth day, we went to a new "Kids beach" where Tyler put it all together. "One Two Three" he'd yell, then throw his head under water, kick his feet, and suddenly, right before our eyes, his little bottom was floating and he was actually moving in the water. This was truly progress and an awesome feat to witness for Auntie KK, Mommy, Daddy, Gavin, Uncle Mike, Gramma and Papa Roberts. What a fun trip!
