See Tyler Grow

Sunday night as I was putting Tyler to bed, it occurred to me that he only went on one timeout the entire weekend. Not that he was a perfect angel, he needed occasional reminders to say things without whining. But that is a great weekend. We went shopping for beds one day and Tyler thought it was so hilarious to see mommy and daddy lying down on the mattresses. Each bed we'd try out, he'd wiggle his way between us. Just like home. Except in the store he was giggling about it. At home, he cries and whines about it.

Well we seem to be stuck in a swearing slump. It makes me sick and unbelievably pissed at myself. Oh there I go again. It's so shocking to hear these words coming out of such a sweet boy's mouth. Instead of washing his mouth out with soap I think I need to wash mine out with soap. Just before we were getting ready to go to gramma's house, which is perfect timing for a kid to show off his new vocabulary, Tyler said to me "I don't want to wear those shoes. Fucking dangit." He was stomping his feet and crossing his arms. He meant it. So did I when I threatened him to take away everything he likes if he ever says those words again. How does he know those two words are in the similar 'bad word' genre? It's not like I've ever used those words together.

We've been painting our bedroom and moved our TV, VCR and other top-of-the-dresser stuff to Tyler's bed while he was away at Gramma's. So we walk into his bedroom last night and he said to me "What is this crap doing on my bed?" Jeez I knew I was bad but had no idea I was this bad.

I cut the boys hair. Gavin's is cute. Tyler's was too but then I got the clippers to clean up the sides a bit, but selected the way too short clipper and tested it out right on the top of his head for some unknown reason. So now he has a buzz. Super buzz. He took one look in the mirror and said "Hey, I look like cousin Steven." Now he likes to walk around the rubbing his hand over his buzzed hair and saying "My hair is not long." That's the understatement of the year.
